About Me

Maddie works with individuals and families navigating grief, loss, life transitions and serious illness. She believes that the relationship between therapist and client is central to the work of therapy and strives to create a space where individuals feel empowered to explore their experiences and develop a deeper connection to themselves and others. Grounded in an existential and relational approach, Maddie values the opportunity to explore life’s complexities together.

She is particularly drawn to working with individuals and caregivers experiencing the uncertainty and profound changes that can accompany chronic illness and loss. Drawing from Narrative Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Maddie works collaboratively with clients to explore their experiences, make sense of their stories, and find meaning and connection amid life’s most difficult moments.

Maddie received her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Michigan and her Master of Social Work from New York University. She also completed the Zelda Foster Fellowship in Palliative and End of Life Care. Prior to working as a therapist, Maddie worked as an inpatient clinical social worker on the bone marrow transplant service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she supported patients and families as they navigated serious illness and treatment. She is licensed in both California and New York and offers virtual and in-person sessions in Santa Monica, CA. Maddie is supervised by Danielle Jonas, LCSW (#115555).
